The Monitor Module, provides a unique combination of macro trends and deep-dive information, such as trend-specific media monitorings, startup profiles and trend dynamics. This gives you an improved decision-making basis for the ongoing validation of trends. After opening a macro-trend, the Trend monitor button takes you to the aggregated trend data.
Functions
Trend-Signals
Data-driven Trend-Signals help you identifying and interpreting new trends and acute changes in your business environment. Trend signals can be found either in the main menu under Trend-Signals or at the end of the respective macro-trend page. The following key figures are available in the Monitor module:
- Trend strength: Trend strength describes how heavily a trend is discussed relative to other trends in society, public media, annual reports and press releases.
- Trend momentum: The trend momentum describes the dynamics of a trend (growth rate in %) in comparison. This key figure can be filtered according to three different interval sizes (weeks, quarters and years).
- Trend funding: Trend funding represents the cumulative funding volume of all startups across all funding rounds that address a specific macro-trend with their products and services.
Start-up Monitor
AI-driven, we provide you with the most relevant startups to selected macro-trends. This gives you a unique overview of the global start-up landscape – clustered by mega and macro trends. In the Start-up Monitor you will find the following information…

Forecast Roadmap
The roadmap provides an overview of future statements and forecasts relating to the respective macro- or mega-trend along a time axis. These can be statements about technological developments or emerging companies, for example. Statements from relevant sources on market volumes are an important indicator for evaluating trends as well and are shown in the roadmap. For all statements, we provide you with the link to the original source, allowing you to dive deeper into specific future scenarios. Via the blue plus icon each of the statements can also be created as a company micro-trend or pinned to a macro-trend as a contribution to further work in the Trendmanager.
News Monitor
With the News Monitor you keep an eye on over 1,000 sources simultaneously. On a daily basis, you receive the most relevant news on the respective macro-trend. Use the News Monitor to systematically track the activities of your competitors or to stay well informed about trend-specific innovations. In addition, the News Monitor provides further in-depth information on content developments as well as on the diffusion and maturity of trend topics – an ideal supplement to the daily newly-screened micro-trends. For further research we provide the original source as a link for you. For future work in the Trendmanager, all news can also be used to create a company micro-trend or can be pinned to a macro-trend via the blue plus icon.
